Once upon a time two lawyers fell in love across a courtroom …

Gabrielle Ginsberg was a public defender with plenty of nerve and Braden Pierce was an assistant district attorney with a whole lot of swagger. Gabrielle wanted Braden and Braden wanted Gabrielle.
And Cameron wanted Gabrielle.
And Marla wanted Braden.
And Cole wanted Gabrielle.
And Mrs. Mason wanted Braden.
And an anonymous letter writer wanted to keep Gabrielle and Braden apart.
Together Gabrielle and Braden discovered many important things, like which doors at the courthouse actually locked, and that desks could be useful for more than writing. They also found out that the path of love was not always smooth, and it was sometimes trod upon by some really wacky people, like a confused fanny grabber, an eighty-two year old pothead and a gentleman who threw a wine and cheese party in his pants. Could true love overcome a lack of privacy, interference by jealous rivals and the insanity of the criminal court system?
NOTICE: This book contains explicit descriptions of sexual situations and mature language. It is intended for readers over the age of eighteen.
My Review:

I was looking for something funny and low on the angsty side. I got exactly that, and a boatload more than I expected with The Law of Attraction. Not only was this book a love story, but it was funny. I found myself laughing out loud frequently, causing my family to look at me with concern. With the humor we also get the sweet, with Gabrielle and Braden’s love story. And it was a low-angsty love story on top of that. So great!
It was so nice to read about two people falling in love, and to smile while it was happening instead of wanting to cry about all their horrible circumstances. Now that’s not saying I don’t like a powerful, heavily emotional read or a good old fashioned angst-fest. I love those too. But this romantic comedy fills a separate need, and I loved it. Oh, and let’s not forget the hot, steamy sex scenes. They were burning up the pages one moment, then making jokes the next. I love a couple that can blend heat and humor.
There is still a bit of drama happening with the anonymous letter writer, but it is does not overwhelm the light-hearted mood of this story. Plus, since these are lawyers, we get some great legal humor and I loved the ridiculous cases they had to try and the general mood of the lawyers interactions with each other. And speaking of characters, I loved getting to know this group of friends and their interactions. Truly entertaining.
In fact, as soon as I was done reading, I downloaded the next book, The Home Court Advantage, because I had to keep reading. This is the first in a duo story on Gabrielle and Braden, then there will be more books but based off of the other characters. So if you are fearful of cliffhangers, I wouldn't necessarily say this has one, more like a to be continued but you're not going to want to throw your e-reader in the meantime. Then Gabrielle and Braden’s story is essentially set at the end of book 2, though I imagine they will continue to make appearances in the next books.

Once upon a time, two lawyers fell in love across a courtroom …

Gabrielle and Braden have fallen in love and face a bright future together if they can just survive all of the crazy people they encounter, like anonymous napkin droppers, UFO enthusiasts, crooked businessmen, nude drunk drivers, and a woman who tries to break into jail. When the gavel falls will the verdict be happily ever after?

Come join the fun as the sexiest couple in the Philadelphia Criminal Court System shares more witty banter and red hot lovin’ with a dash of mystery thrown in. The story that began with The Law of Attraction concludes with lots of love and laughter in The Home Court Advantage.
My Review:

I immediately started reading this after finishing The Law of Attraction. We continue on with Gabrielle and Braden’s story and the stalker drama they are dealing with from book 1. But along with the stalker drama, we get to continue with their beautiful relationship. They really are so cute and funny together.

And speaking of funny, this book continued to crack me up just like book 1. My family continued to give me weird looks as I laughed out loud while reading. The humor in the courtroom, the absurd situations Gabrielle and Braden would get themselves into, the comedic interactions between the friends and frenemies, and the crazy feats to find the stalker. This book continued to fill my romantic comedy hole. The sweet side of their relationship and love life continued to mix with the hot and heavy, and that created just the right environment to keep my attention and the pace progressing.

As for progressing, we continue with the stalker drama, and honestly, some of the things these friends do to find this person are ridiculous, but that’s what makes it so entertaining. We are also introduced to a new character, who will be in the next book, and she adds just the right amount of intrigue and spice to mix things up for a certain someone. And then the ending was the cherry on top. So we end this duo but we’ll continue on with more of these characters in the next book, which I thoroughly look forward to.
