Review: Motion by Penny Reid

Motion (Laws of Physics, #1; Hypothesis, #2.1)
Motion by Penny Reid
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So this was hard for me to rate. I confess my trepidation walking into this. You see, if you've read the Elements of Chemistry series, you've met Abram before. For me, this slight insight into his future (as far as the timeline with this book) has messed with my mind. I know there are cliffhangers and drama to come. Had I gone in completely blind to this series, I think I would have been ok. Because Reid is a great writer and I thoroughly enjoy her style and character development and thoughtful ways she incorporates current events and insights into her stories. But this time around, and without being spoilery, two issues took me out of my complete reading enjoyment: 1) the knowledge of Abram's future and 2) my utter dislike of deception.

But, I do look forward to completing this series, cliffhangers and all. I'm trying to trust the process. Because I really like Abram and feel upset on his behalf. And I really like Mona and feel frustrated on her behalf. And there is so much story left to come. So time will tell how this all plays out. I'm trusting Penny Reid.

*I voluntarily read an early copy of this title*
