Chace's dark and mysterious aura is not exactly seen as 'normal', but Nat already knows that not a lot of things are of the norm when it comes to her life. She soon finds herself unable to resist Chace's strange pull on her heart, unleashing a sudden attraction to the unnatural forces that have always been burning within her. But with uncovering her true self brings forth great danger, as Nat learns that her brother's death had a lot more to do with the side she's unable to resist.

Can Natasha calm the blazing flames and withstand the threat of danger, or will this new found power destroy her?

Excerpt:
"Sean! Sean, where are you?” I hope he’s not hurt, or worse. But once I calmed myself there it was again, the faint heartbeat. I let it lead me towards the source. Hopefully it was Sean’s.

I followed the pulsating sound a few feet from the car and finally behind some burnt shrubs I spotted glowing light from what appeared to be a body. It was my brother.

“Sean! Oh My God! Are you alright? Is anything broken?” I dropped down beside him and dismissed the tension felt beneath my knees pressed on gravel.

He could hardly say a word much less move. Sean just laid there shaking. I have to do something. I searched around in my pockets for my cell phone. Something I should’ve done the moment I woke up because it wasn’t there now. I checked on my brother again but the only thing visible were burn marks on his face and on his once white shirt now filled with dark patches. I moved my hands in dismay, knowing very well who did that.

Sean moaned and muttered something but all I made out was “...run...must get away...he wants...power.” I thought maybe the crash left him dazed. He was probably in shock.

“I have to go back to the car and find a phone to call for help, Sean. I’ll be right back, okay.” I assured him. He moaned in return.

I dashed to the car and searched everywhere for both our cell phones. Please, God! “Not here...no...Yes!” Sean’s cell was still in tact under the backseat. I quickly reached for it and dialed 911. Fortunately, it still had service. “911, what is your emergency?” And just as I was about to explain the night’s events I heard the loudest most horrific screams I had ever heard in my entire existence.

“Sean! What’s happening?” I cried out. The phone fell from my hand as I rushed over as fast as I could, just in time to see my brother’s body lit up in flames, and the bright light flying away from him. Its work was done. I knew that because I couldn’t hear Sean’s heartbeat anymore.

Author Spotlight:
Shane Morgan is a lover of "interesting" books. Her imagination is always running wild so it's best to collect and organize them into separate stories.

Shane's love for writing started the moment she picked up a Nancy Drew book. At a young age, she began writing short stories, divulging in a variety of genres; from comedy and drama, to horror, and romance. Shane's quite intrigued by the otherworldly or things otherwise deemed "impossible." Well, in her opinion, people never really grow up, do they?

Unresisting is the first book in her new YA series of the same title. Prepare to join Natasha on her journey of self discovery as she learns to control her powers and use them for good, fighting all the bad along the way. Of course we can't have a girl being alone throughout the story, there has to be some romance thrown in there. And Chace will definitely steal the hearts of every female reader.
