Feature & Follow (18): Not Read, Not Seen

FF 2012 Feature & Follow #120

Feature and Follow Friday is hosted by both Alison Can Read and Parakunkee’s View. This is a great way to gain blog followers for book bloggers, follow other blogs, and get to know each other. Each week a different question is posted by our hosts and we get to answer. You can find more info about this meme here.

Q: What book (or TV show or movie) have you not read that seemingly everyone else has?

Books: In the YA category, some popular books I haven't read are The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Thirteen Reasons Why, Matched, Wither, Graceling, The Book Thief. Most of these are on my TBR pile, and I even have several on my bookshelf, but I keep finding books to read before them. I did finally start Ender's Game, so that's one bit of progress for me.

TV: Of the popular shows I've heard about out there, a few I've never seen are Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, and True Blood. I'm not a big TV watcher in the first place, so having to commit to a series really pushes someone like me who has a short attention span. I rarely make it through an entire series. I do better with comedic sitcoms.

Can you relate, or do you think I'm missing out?

  1. Haven't read any of those books either. A few of them just don't make it on my radar.

And wow! Everyone seems to be saying Breaking Bad! I have never watched the show myself, but nor have I heard lots of people talking about it! I find that so odd that so many people are choosing this one and I really know nothing about it!

True Blood is the only item that I actually watch. Of course I don't have HBO so I wait for the DVDs, and I'm only halfway through season 4. I seem to run out of time lately to sit still for an hour to watch the show...gotta fix that so by Xmas time when I ask for and hopefully receive season 5 I will be ready!

  2. I haven't read any of those books either! Matched is on my desk and I hope to get to it soon!

I have not seen Breaking Bad or Doctor Who either but I am a Walking Dead junkie thanks to my sister!

  3. OH MY GOSH. I actually never read Wither or Graceling, but 'Perks' is something I really enjoyed so hopefully if you ever get the chance to read it, you'll love it too. Never read Ender's Game yet either, so hopefully it'll be promising-- especially with the movie coming out and all.

But of all the TV shows, I never seen them. I wouldn't say you're missing out, but I definitely need to catch up on some of those things too so you're not alone on this. Thanks for checking out my post!

  4. I haven't read The Perks of Being a Wallflower, either, or seen the film. I have read Thirteen Reasons Why and Matched, haven't read any of the others though. As for TV, I haven't watched most of them either, so not on your own there! Though, I did watch Doctor Who (only while David Tennant was the Doctor, then jumped ship.)

    Followed back on GFC. :)

  5. Never seen Breaking Bad either, heard a lot about True Blood but haven't seen that either. But then we don't watch much TV so I guess thats why... same with the books although I keep seeing Graceling at the bookstore and it sounds kinda good.

  9. Ooh, you have to read Thirteen Reasons Why ~ it's amazing! I will admit I haven't read any of the others though. And I don't watch t.v. so I've missed out on all those great shows too. Thanks for stopping by! Happy reading!!
