Her first thought: "Who are you?"My Review:
It's the morning after her cousin's bachelorette party in Vegas and Megan Scott wakes up with the mother of all hangovers. Even worse, she's in a stranger's penthouse having woken up with something else as well—a funny, arrogant, sexy...husband!
Up until now, finding even a boyfriend had seemed impossible—been there, got the broken heart, sworn off men for good. Then a few martinis with Carter...no, Connor Reed and she's gone from first meet to marriage in one night!
Megan wants a lawyer. But Connor's shocking bombshell?
"I don't want a divorce."
Yes, I know the story is predictable, but that's kind of why I read it. I love a good romance, and I liked this one in particular because they got married after knowing each other less than a day, and didn't sleep together first. It made the story unique and special to me, because in a twisted way, it appeals to my traditional side.
Connor and Megan meet in Las Vegas accidentally, and are quickly connected. But what appeals to them both initially is the practicality and stability of the situation - marriage with commitment expectations, family expectations, but no love expectations. Both have their own personal reasons and histories for their heart-ache and trust issues. Seems like a win-win situation, right? Well, not when alcohol and memory loss are involved, hence sending Connor into win-my-wife-over mode.
I liked that while Connor was trying to help Megan overcome her fears and past, Connor eventually had to face his own issues and past as well. I liked that they did have a chemistry that I could feel through the pages, and while they were attracted to each other physically, that wasn't their biggest attraction. They liked each other as people and got close emotionally without really meaning to.
I was satisfied with the ending and felt like Connor and Megan were able to grow in their own characters and work through their issues without compromising who they were.
