Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

It's nice to read an eating disorder book from a male POV for a change.
Teaser from eARC loc 321:
"They only gave you eight peas?" Lard eyed Bone's plate. "I could mainline those."
"It's not that I'm paranoid," Bones said, mashing the peas into his chicken. "But I'm pretty sure the peas have been talking behind my back."
Book Blurb:
Sixteen-year-old Jack, nicknamed "Bones," won't eat. His roommate in the eating disorder ward has the opposite problem and proudly goes by the nickname "Lard." They become friends despite Bones's initial reluctance. When Bones meets Alice, a dangerously thin dancer who loves to break the rules, he lets his guard down even more. Soon Bones is so obsessed with Alice that he's willing to risk everything-even his recovery.

This sounds interesting! As a recovering anorexic, I bet I can easily relate to Bones! Here's my TT: http://booklovingmommy.blogspot.com/2014/02/teaser-tuesday-love-letters-to-dead-by.html
ReplyDeleteWow. It really is strange to see these diseases from a male viewpoint. Fascinating.

Sounds like a good story that I'd enjoy (assuming Bones decides not to risk his recovery!)
ReplyDeleteMy Teaser is from CAPE MAYBE.
This sounds like quite a book--a mix of humor and seriousness. Thanks for sharing!
