Teaser Tuesday (22): The Iron Traitor

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

The Iron Traitor (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten, #2)

I love the Iron Fey series that Julie has created. I love Meghan, Ash and Puck. Now I love Ethan, Kenzie, and Keirran (well, maybe I don't love Keirran because he's seriously one conflicted, messed-up guy, but I want to love him). The Iron Traitor is full of all the things I love about Julie's books. I picked two teasers today, because I just love Ethan!

Teaser from eARC (location 420):

I stifled a sigh. "I have a date," I said simply. Mom's eyebrows shot up. "A date?" she repeated, like she couldn't quite believe it. "Yeah. With a real girl and everything."

Teaser from eARC (location 1440):

Oh, goody. More bargains. Wonder what this fairy will want. If it even mentions my firstborn kid, I swear I'm going to punch something.

Book Blurb:

In the real world, when you vanish into thin air for a week, people tend to notice.

After his unexpected journey into the lands of the fey, Ethan Chase just wants to get back to normal. Well, as "normal" as you can be when you see faeries every day of your life. Suddenly the former loner with the bad reputation has someone to try for-his girlfriend, Kenzie. Never mind that he's forbidden to see her again.

But when your name is Ethan Chase and your sister is one of the most powerful faeries in the Nevernever, "normal" simply isn't to be. For Ethan's nephew, Keirran, is missing, and may be on the verge of doing something unthinkable in the name of saving his own love. Something that will fracture the human and faery worlds forever, and give rise to the dangerous fey known as the Forgotten. As Ethan's and Keirran's fates entwine and Keirran slips further into darkness, Ethan's next choice may decide the fate of them all.
