Top Ten Best Bookish Memories
(not necessarily in any particular order)

1.Studying the Bible
And the impact it has had on my life.

2. "Meeting" my Starbooks girls
I adore these gals. They are simply the best :)

3. Book Signings! Meeting authors!
Over the last year to year and a half, I've become a complete sucker for a book signing. Living near a large metropolis has certainly allowed me many opportunities (too many authors to name, but the list includes John Green, Cassandra Clare, Veronica Roth, Richelle Mead, Jenny Hand, Melina Marchetta, Maggie Steifvater, and on and on). Just last night I attended Tahereh Mafi, Veronica Rossi, Cynthia Hand, and Brodi Ashton's signing. Plus, Tahereh and Veronica remembered meeting my son and me last year, so that was super encouraging :)

4. My kids learning about Shakespeare
My boys are all in Shakespearean theatre classes. The older two have been in these plays for a few years now. This is the first year for my 5 year old. I love watching the impact of Shakespeare in their lives. Plus they are just awesome to watch on stage.

5. Book bonding with my eldest son
He loves going to book signings with me and it is such a special time that we get to share together.
6. The Twilight series re-sparking my marriage
And all the wonderful books I've read since then, putting me in my happy place...thus making my husband happy too and reaping the benefits ;)

7. Finally starting to write a book
Currently at more than 65K words, it's been a very exciting process.

8. Falling in love with my first book series as a kid
Anne of Green Gables!

9. Winning special stuff I can't buy
Recently, I won signed books from Fisher Amelie! I love her!
Also, annotated copies of the entire Shade series by Jeri Smith-Ready. So cool!

 10. Learning about Charlotte Mason and her education philosophy
I love how her writing and beliefs have positively impacted how I homeschool my kids.

  1. EEEEE JOHN GREEN! And actually, I'm dying to meet every author you have met. You're lucky :) And it's so great that your son loves to go to signings with you :)

  3. Thanks for sharing those memories! You reminded me about book bonding - for me it's with my step-son, we recommend books to each other and have a blast discussing them.

  5. I wish we had a lot of signings here. We don't have visits from those awesome authors here, so I'm a bit jealous! And it's great to book bond with someone. Thanks for sharing your memories :)
